The Lineweaver–Burk Plot Generator is a free online tool for plotting and analyzing double-reciprocal plots in enzyme kinetics. This plot, based on the reciprocal of the Michaelis-Menten equation, helps researchers and students calculate key parameters like Km and Vmax with greater precision.

With this tool, you can input your laboratory data, including substrate concentrations and reaction rates, to automatically generate a Lineweaver–Burk plot. This automation speeds up and simplifies enzyme kinetic data analysis, allowing thorough investigation of enzyme behavior under different conditions.
This tool is especially useful for students of biochemistry and molecular biology, and for researchers in enzymology. It lets users quickly convert data into graphs and obtain actionable results for scientific analysis without complex statistical software. This generator is also an effective resource for teaching enzyme kinetics and practicing laboratory data analysis.
How to Use the Generator
- Select Input Mode: Choose between Data Points (to enter raw experimental measurements) or Parameters (to plot theoretical lines using known Vmax and Km).
- Define Experiment: Enter a name and select a custom color to distinguish your dataset from others.
- Populate Data: Input substrate concentrations [S] and initial velocities v0 into the interactive grid, or use the Bulk Import feature to paste columns directly from Excel.
- Synthesize & Analyze: The tool automatically calculates the regression line, R-squared value, and kinetic constants in real-time.
- Export Results: Use the output tools to download your graph as a High-Resolution (6x) image suitable for publication.
Features
A. Precision Kinetic Engine
Our tool utilizes high-fidelity linear regression to extract critical constants. The engine automatically identifies the Y-intercept (1/Vmax) and X-intercept (-1/Km), providing the exact values required for biochemical reporting. Every plot includes a calculated R-squared value to verify data reliability.
B. Multi-Experiment Management
Compare different experimental conditions, such as a control group versus various inhibitor concentrations, on a single axis. The Multi-Dataset Support allows you to add unlimited experiments, each with its own color-coding and analysis summary, for side-by-side comparison.
C. Publication-Quality Visualization
Experience high-res clarity with our Smart Extrapolation feature. The tool differentiates between experimental observations (solid lines) and theoretical projections (dashed lines) on the negative X-axis. You can download these charts in 6x High-Res to ensure they remain crisp in ISI journals, posters, and digital presentations.
