Silkworm life cycle 2024: Complete guide (Video)

In this video, we discuss the life cycle of a tiny sewer worm, Silkworm, which produces silk threads. A silkworm is a larva that hatches from an egg and later transforms into an adult moth. The larva begins to protect itself by covering its body in a specific that called a cocoon. A cocoon is used as a silk source and then by putting it in hot water, the silk fibers become unwound.

The life cycle of this worm involves four stages:

  1. Stage 1: Egg
  2. Stage 2: Larva/Cocoon
  3. Stage 3: Pupa
  4. Stage 4: Moth
